KRRA Referee Panels

Elite Panel

The Elite Panel consists of the association’s top-performing match officials responsible for officiating high-profile domestic and international fixtures.

Referees in this panel are appointed to:

  • Kenya Cup top-tier matches
  • Major national finals
  • National Sevens Circuit finals
  • International fixtures under Rugby Africa and World Rugby

Elite Panel referees are expected to maintain the highest standards of:

  • Technical accuracy

  • Fitness and conditioning
  • Professional conduct

National Panel

The National Panel includes experienced referees officiating across national competitions and serving as the backbone of Kenyan rugby officiating.

Appointments typically include:

  • Kenya Cup fixtures

  • Schools and university competitions

Referees in this panel are continuously assessed and developed with opportunities to progress into the Elite Panel.


Contender Panel

The Contender Panel is designed for emerging referees showing strong potential for advancement into national-level officiating.

This panel focuses on:

  • Structured assessments

Contender referees are closely monitored and supported as part of KRRA’s long-term referee development pathway.


Women Panel
